Leo Messi has finally made a decision. The Qatar 2022 World Cup winner will continue his career in MLS after signing for Inter Miami, Messi announced on Wednesday in an interview with 'Mundo Deportivo'. There was a lot of speculation about his move to Al Hilal and even a hypothetical return to Barcelona, but in the end the 'Cules' dream will not be fulfilled.

It has finally become official. The Barcelona dream is over as Messi has decided that his career will continue in the United States, he announced on Wednesday in an interview with 'Mundo Deportivo'. The Argentine star has signed for Inter Miami and will most likely play the last years of his career in the MLS.

Although there was a lot of speculation about the future of the former Paris Saint-Germain player, it was finally the MLS team who managed to convince the player.

Both Al Hilal and Barcelona fought to bring in the '10' until the very last minute. Al Hilal had the advantage that their offer could not be matched financially, while the 'Cules' tried to convince Messi emotionally and trust the player to base his decision on his feeling of returning to play for the team of his life.

However, on Wednesday several media outlets reported that Inter Miami had overtaken the Saudi side and the Catalan giants in the race to sign the Qatar 2022 World Cup winner.

In this way, Messi starts a new journey and will play for the third club of his career after having spent most of it at Barcelona and having played the last two years at Paris Saint-Germain.

This is undoubtedly a hard blow for Barcelona who considered almost all possible options to bring back the best player in their history. However, due to the poor financial situation of the 'Cules' and the problems to comply with the Financial Fair play the Catalan team will not be able to fulfil their dream of seeing Leo back at the Camp Nou.
