Valencia confirmed, in an official statement, the signing of Peter Federico on loan from Real Madrid for the remainder of the season, which includes a purchase option.

Valencia have confirmed the signing of Peter Federico on loan from Real Madrid. There is a purchase option in the agreement amounting to 2 million euros and a clause for future sale of 50% for the Madrid side. The 'Merengues' have secured very good conditions despite the fact that the academy player, who has not featured for the first team for the last two seasons, will finish his contract in the summer of next year.

The details of the deal came to light not thanks to official announcements, but to leaks from journalist Fabrizio Romano on his social networks. It should be remembered that this youngster made his debut in La Liga a couple of seasons ago, when Carlo Ancelotti used him in a few matches in which he stood out especially against Getafe.

From then on, he faded from the senior team's plans, something understandable considering the quality at their disposal, although he became a key player in Raul Gonzalez's reserve team. If RM Castilla came close to promotion to the second division last season, it was, to a large extent, due to his presence on the pitch. In the first half of the current season, however, he has dropped down the pecking order.

The fact that he was only 19 years old when he broke into the top flight suggests that, now that he is 21, there is a chance that he could take a step forward. Ruben Baraja's side have left the relegation zone behind them and, although Europe is perhaps an over-ambitious goal given the club's recent poor run of form, it would be hard for the Valencia fans to see their side playing in the top six of the league table.
