Midfielder has signed a new one- year contract at Turf Moor after impressing manager Sean Dyche.

Hendrick's existing deal was due to expire in June, but Burnley have opted to activate an extension clause in the player's contract, and he will therefore stay with the club until 2020.

Manager Sean Dyche had a hand in the decision to give Hendrick an extension, and he was delighted to confirm the news this week. In his pre-match press conference, the Burnley boss said: "He's done well for us. We have asked a lot of him. We have used him in a number of different positions that sometimes aren't natural to him and over time he has delivered good performances for us."

Since joining the 'Clarets' in 2016, Hendrick has made 91 appearances in all competitions, scoring 5 goals and recording 3 assists. The 26 year old has been an ever prominent figure in the team's plans, making the starting lineup in 29 Premier League matches last year, as the team made a shock dart up the table and qualified for the Europa League.
