David Beckham continues to expand his MLS club. Five more signings were announced at Inter Miami on Wednesday.

Inter Miami FC, the team led by David Beckham and debuting in 2020, chose five players from a list of more than 200 after they were released by their respective MLS teams (Major League Soccer): Ben Sweat, Alvas Powell, Lee Nguyen, Luis Argudo and Bryan Meredith.

Sweat comes from New York City FC, where he has played for the past three seasons; Powell comes from FC Cincinatti; Nguyen was a Los Angeles FC midfielder and Luis Argudo held the same position on Columbus Crew, while Meredith was a goalkeeper for Seattle Sounders.

"We're delighted with how we've completed this step. We're gaining momentum before the 2020 season," said Inter Miami Sports Director Paul McDonough.

The 44-year-old British began his relationship with Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States when, as a player for Real Madrid, he announced that he was leaving the Spanish team to join LA Galaxy on the west coast of the United States in 2007.

Inter Miami will hold its first two seasons in this provisional venue, while the Miami Beckham United group, to which the British and Cuban-American businessmen Jorge and José Mas belong, seeks to build the definitive one in Miami.
