Bayern Munich announced the signing of Alexander Nubel, Schalke 04 goalkeeper, ahead of the 2020/21 season. The German goalkeeper, who is 23-years-old, will go to Munich for free on the 1st July 2020 and with a five year contract.

Alexander Nubel will play for Bayern Munich next season. The club announced this on Saturday 4th January in an official statement published on their social media pages and their website.

The 23-year-old German goalkeeper is currently shining at Schalke 04, a team where he will play until June 2020. Once his contract is finalised, he will go to Munich on the 1st July as a free agent and with a long-term contract (5 years).

After leaving Paderborn, the young keeper landed at Schalke 04 at only 19. Since then, he has been alternating from the second and first team, managing to play 41 official games in professional football, letting in 52 goals.

So far this season, he has played a total of 17 games, all of which he has started, letting in 20 goals, which is an average of 1.2 goals per game. Apparently, both teams reached an agreement a few days ago.

Bayern announced Nubel's signing through an official statement: "Bayern Munich will sign Alexander Nubel for the 2020/21 season. This has been agreed by Bayern and Nubel in the last few days. The 23-year-old goalkeeper has a contract with FC Schalke 04 until the 30th June 2020. Nubel will arrive at Munich on the 1st July as a free agent and with a five year contract".
