Martin Odegaard now knows what it is like to score for Arsenal. The midfielder, on loan from Real Madrid, once again started and he got off the mark against Olympiakos with a powerful left footed shot from the edge of the box. Jose Sa failed to keep it out and it was his first goal since 13th February when he was at Real Sociedad.

Despite the criticism, Mikel Arteta had always defended Martin Odegaard and the Norwegian did not disappoint him. He got his sixth start for Arsenal against Olympiakos and he responded by scoring his first goal

With 34 minutes on the clock, Odegaard got the ball from Thomas Partey just outside the box. He controlled with his left foot and then hit a very powerful shot with his left foot.

The strike moved a bit in the air and that was enough to catch out Jose Sa. The OIympiakos was in two minds as to whether to punch or catch and he ended up failing to keep it out

Martin Odegaard celebrated with a bit of anger and that was his first goal for Arsenal. In a month and half, he has played more minutes than for Real Madrid in the whole of the first half of the season.

In fact, Odegaard's last goal was more than a year ago. That was on 13th February 2020 when he netted for Real Sociedad against Mirandes in a Copa del Rey semi-final.
