Odegaard close to extending his Arsenal contract on a long-term deal

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners are already working on the long-term renewal of Martin Odegaard as they want to keep the Norwegian midfielder for several more seasons.

Martin Odegaard, who joined Arsenal in the 2020/21 season from Real Madrid, has been a key player in Mikel Arteta's squad. The 24-year-old has played 107 games for the Gunners, starting 91 of them.

As a result, the English side want to tie him down in order to be able to keep him for several more seasons. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, his club is already working on his renewal.

The Italian journalist reports that negotiations for his extension are already at an advanced stage and that it's a new long-term contract. In fact, his renewal has been one of the board's top priorities.

Odegaard is close to extending his contract with Arsenal, meaning Spanish manager Mikel Arteta has him in mind for his future plans with the Premier League side.
