A competitive East Anglian derby at Portman Road ended in a 1-1 stalemate after Norwich City came from a goal down to claim a draw with Ipswich, thus taking their unbeaten streak against their rivals to 11 games.

Both teams went into the game struggling at the wrong end of the Championship table after five games of the campaign, meaning the end result of a draw didn't really suit anyone.

Ipswich will be hoping midfield talisman Cole Skuse is not seriously injured after he was carried off on a stretcher in what was a bitty first half.

Summer signing Gwion Edwards looked to have sent Ipswich on their way to their first victory over Norwich since 2009 when his effort wrong-footed 'Canaries' goalkeeper Tim Krul with 57 minutes gone, but the hosts were to be left frustrated when Moritz Leitner capped off a period of strong Norwich pressure by curling home from outside the box.

That goal came as a hammer blow for the 'Tractor Boys', who had wasted a string of chances after they scored the opener.

The returning Jon Walters, signed on a season-long loan from Burnley, could have given Ispwich the win late on, but just as he did when he rattled an effort against the post earleir in the game he fluffed his lines after beating the offside trap.

The result means Ipswich remain second bottom, with just three points from four games, whilst Norwich sit 17th, without a win in 11 away league games and without a win so far this season.
