With the media circus that surrounded Neymar's move from Barcelona to PSG, one English non-league side took advantage of the publicity on offer by claiming to have signed the Brazilian star.

North Ferriby United took to their official Twitter account to claim that they had sealed a deal for the Samba star, even going as far as to superimpose the player's face onto a promotional photo.

"WELCOME Neymar, We are delighted to announce that we've pipped PSG to the post!" the post read.

Though he club weren't done there, adding one final joke: "In other news, season passes are now £2,845,212," they jested.

The joke worked a treat, with the Tweet racking up over 20,000 retweets and 32,000 likes.+ç
