Phillip Lahm says goodbye to football with his particular record that sums him up as a player.

'He is the most intelligent player I have met', Pep Guardiola said about Lahm, whom he tried to reposition in Bayern's midfield.

As a right-back or a midfielder, Lahm has been a major partaker in the last decade of European football, as well as a true example of how to play the game.

The Bayern Munich captain is retiring at the age of 33, boasting an impressive resumé for both the Bavarian club and the German national team.

He has won a World Cup, a Champions League, nine Bundesligas, seven German Cups, three German Super Cups, one European Super Cup and a Club World Cup.

But one thing sets him apart from other players when looking at his history. Lahm, despite being a defender, has never been sent off. He was never shown two yellow cards, and much less a straight red.

In fact, in 652 official matches he was booked 49 times. This translates to one yellow card every 13.3 games. A special player bids farewell... a true gentleman of the sport.
