Nigerian centre-back Troost-Ekong, who scored in the Super Eagles' last match against South Africa, has said it would be a 'dream' to lift the Africa Cup of Nations trophy.

The Super Eagles will face hosts Ivory Coast in Abidjan after beating South Africa on penalties. The last time the Nigerians were in a final was in 2013, when they won their third continental title.

Nigeria national team captain Troost-Ekong has said it would be a dream for him and the team to lift the Africa Cup of Nations trophy on 11 February.

"You dream about moments like that. I've seen it so many times. And I've closed my eyes. To actually be there on Sunday and have the chance to do that will be amazing," defender Troost-Ekong said BBC Sport Africa.

Nigeria coach Jose Peseiro said he has faith in his players to win the title. "When I signed the contract, I said I want to win the AFCON. Either way, I don't know if everybody believed or not. I have believed since the first moment. We haven't won nothing until now - we want to win the AFCON, said the Portuguese coach.
