Nice manager, Patrick Vieira has confirmed that Nice are interested in the French striker joining Nice in the summer.

Nice have confirmed they have an interest in French forward Olivier Giroud.

The French club are looking to sign Giroud from Chelsea this summer, as his contract will end at the end of the season.

Giroud was originally looking likely to leave Chelsea before Sarri confirmed he would be triggering the one year contract extension in Giroud's contract.

Giroud has not been a regular starter this season under Sarri, only featuring in the Europa League since Gonzalo Higuain arrived in January.

The French World Cup winner began his career in France, where he won the league with Montpellier in the 2011/12 season, and Vieira is looking to bring him back to Ligue 1 this summer. Nice's technical director confirmed these rumours when he said:

'If Olivier Giroud decides to come that is because he likes the project at OGC Nice, If Olivier is not happy at Chelsea, if he wants to play, we will take all the elements into account. I have spoken with Patrick [Vieira] about Olivier Giroud, but we have not spoken with Olivier Giroud.'
