Nice sack Vieira after poor run of results
After a poor run of form in Ligue 1 and Europa League elimination, Nice have sacked manager Patrick Vieira.
Nice have officially sacked manager Patrick Vieira after announcing his departure on social media.
Nice lost 3-2 to Bayer Leverkusen last time out in the Europa League, meaning that they can no longer progress. They sit 11th in Ligue 1.
Vieira won the World Cup with France in 1998 but owners Ineos had set him an ultimatum of qualifying for the knockout stages of the Europa League.
"After arriving in Summer 2018, Patrick Vieira is no longer the Nice manager", said the club in a statement. Adrian Ursea will take over as interim head coach for the time being.
