Neymar's father stuck up for his son after Caen coach Pascal Dupraz said that Neymar was a crybaby. "My son has to cry, but not for the reasons you imagine," he said on social media.

PSG beat Caen in the French Cup. After being knocked out, coach Dupraz hit out at Neymar after he complained about the number of times he is fouled in each game.

"I'll leave crying to Neymar... Football is a contact sport," Dupraz said.

Neymar's inner circle have taken long to respond. On Instagram, his father replied: "My son has to cry, but not for what you imagine, Sir. In my opinion, he has to cry because of coaches like you, referees of that level, negligent and silence league authorities, journalists who are largely biased and cowards in sport," he said.

"Yes, he has to cry. But our crying, his tears, those of my son, are those of an athlete. They only last one night and then he will get up, as he always does, to beat his opponents."
