Guingamp will have to face Brazilian superstar Neymar after he was declared eligible to make his Paris Saint-Germain debut this weekend.

Neymar has been cleared to make his debut for Paris Saint-Germain against Guingamp on Sunday after his world-record €222million transfer from Barcelona was officially ratified.

The French Football Federation (FFF) received Neymar's transfer certificate on Friday and the Brazil international is now available to play for PSG for the first time.

Neymar's participation in the Guingamp game had been in doubt due to a delay in the necessary paperwork being processed, with a banking issue with Barcelona having been reported.

But PSG confirmed in a statement on Friday that Neymar has now been given the green light to make his debut at the Stade de Roudourou.

"On Friday 11 August, the FFF received the International Transfer Certificate from its Spanish counterparts, permitting the ratification of Neymar Jr's contract with Paris Saint-Germain, through to 30 June 2022," read a club statement.

"The FFF and the French Professional Football League have finalised all administrative details, qualifying the Brazilian international to play for Les Rouge et Bleu immediately.

"Neymar Jr is available to first-team coach Unai Emery for Sunday's Ligue 1 Week 2 clash against Guingamp."

PSG head coach Unai Emery has confirmed Neymar is fit enough to be named in his starting XI this weekend.

"He is physically ready to play the entire match," said the Spaniard. "We'll wait for the Federation's formalisation. We want him to start in the 11. He had a good workout. He's ready to play."
