Bayern Munich got rid of the problem of Manuel Neuer's renovation. However, he has now doubled the number of goalkeepers, as Ulreich and Nübel will make it three next year. The goalkeeper of Schalke 04 has gone from being the goalkeeper of the future to being threatened.
Bayern have ended the war on words with Manuel Neuer. WIth a new contract until 2023, there is no another problem: the situation with Nübel. Schalke 04's remaining goalkeeper is due to arrive in Munich next season. He was meant to be Bayern's future star, but Neuuer's contract extension could considerably complicate things.
The 23-year-old, who will be 24 in September, could do with a year in Neuer's shadow to continue his education. However, the German veteran's now polished stripes seriously threaten his progress.
Ulreich also has a contract, which means Bayern will be in an untenable situation with the goalkeepers. Despite his announcement that Nübel will be a goalkeeper with the same guarantees as Ulreich, he must make up his mind to release one of the two.
With Nübel as a bet on the future, it is hard to imagine him leaving.
