Shane Long hasn't had the best times in front of goal of late, with just one goal in his last 47 games for club and country, but thankfully for the Irishman, some schoolboy defending from Shkodran Mustafi gifted him the opener as Southampton took on Arsenal on Sunday.

With Southampting struggling at the wrong end of the table they needed to get something at the Emirates and they got off to the perfect start, though they were given a huge helping hand in doing so.

Dusan Tadic got down the right for the visitors and swung in a low cross, but to the casual observer there looked to be no danger.

That assessment quickly proved incorrect though, as Long stole in across a static Mustafi to poke past Petr Cech in the home goal.

It was horrible defending from the 'Gunners' and yet further evidence of their "soft centre".
