Rangers manager Graeme Murty said defeat his side's to Celtic on Sunday was due to loss of composure.

Rangers coach Graeme Murty was ''immensely frustrated for the fans and players'' after a failure to properly execute the basics cost them the match against Celtic on Saturday. Rangers were defeated 3-2 at their home ground, with fans calling for Murty to resign after the loss.

The hosts were ahead early in the game following a goal from Josh Windass, but went into half-time with a 2-2 draw. Murty said that he was disheartened and doesn't think that Rangers will ''ever give ourselves a better opportunity to go and win the game.''

Discussing the match after with 'RangersTV', Murty said that they ''started brilliantly and then lacked composure, got carried away with the atmosphere. They [Celtic] got back into it with a good hit from them but a poor goal from us. It then took 15-20 minutes for us to re-establish our composure. We go ahead again and then we concede an awful goal a minute before half-time. That's a fundamental flaw, an error that shouldn't happen at this level. The sending off is obviously a pivotal moment and after that we lost composure in possession - and once again, we give away a really, really poor goal. Basics cost us today.''

Murty called on his team to recover and regroup, that the defeat cannot define the remainder of their season, ''we have to show that what we've built so far this season can't be undone by one negative result," he added.
