Some thieves took advantage of the fact that Bayern were playing Barcelona on matchday two in the Champions League at around 22:00 CEST on Tuesday. According to 'Bild', they took money, jewellery and other valuables.

Bayern beat Barcelona 2-0 and once again shown that they like playing against the Catalans. However, not all is good news in Munich.

Thomas Muller suffered a robbery in the middle of the match. Some thieves got in his home, 'Bild' reports, at around 22:00 CEST on Tuesday, while the player was at the Allianz Arena facing Barca.

The Police confirmed the news. The thieves took money, jewellery and other valuable objects.

The security forces in Germany are now investigating the news. At the moment, we do not know anything more about these thieves. In a statement issued by the Bavarian police, they say that "at least two unknown perpretators" entered the home and escaped, with the things, "through the garden towards an adjacent field into the darkness."

In order to try and look for them, according to the same statement, the Police called "police dogs and a helcopter." "However, measures have not been successful up to now," they write.

'Bild' reports that Muller knew that his house had been broken into as soon as the referee blew for full-time. With the three points in the bag, he went straight to his house to find out what had happened.

It was surprising that Muller did not attend to the media. Bayern made reference to a "private meeting" to explain the footballer's absence. Now it is known what was behind that.
