Thomas Muller spoke after Bayern Munich were knocked out by Villarreal. The Bayern footballer was hurt by the result of the match, which sees them miss out on the semi-finals for another season.

Attacking midfielder Thomas Muller said it was difficult to accept an elimination like the one suffered against Villarreal. The Germans drew 1-1 after losing the Champions League quarter-final first leg 1-0 in Spain.

The Germans took the lead through Lewandowski, but the Pole's goal was not enough. Emery's men scored the winning goal thanks to a terrific counter scored by Chukwueze, who ended up being the hero.

"If we think about the game in Villarreal, we have to accept that we were lucky to only lose 1-0 there, but today's game shouldn't have finished 1-1. It's difficult to accept an elimination like that," he told 'Amazon Prime'.

"Maybe we can be accused of not being decisive enough in the area in certain moments, but we played well with the crowd behind us. We defended well and just before the end, we made a mistake and conceded. It's tough to take," he added.
