Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has pressured chief Ed Woodward to organise more pre-season tours to the US in a bid to avoid Asia.

Mourinho believes the facilities at the UCLA campus and warm Californian climate offer a more relaxed environment for his players than the intense conditions of Asia.

Last year, United's pre-season match agaist Manchester City was cancelled due to bad weather in Beijing. The playing surface was left in a condition deemed unfit for play with regular rainfall in the days leading up to the match.

The United boss will speak to Woodward and ICC organisers Relevent Sports about the club returning to the US more often.

Woodward was also asked about the facilities in America to which he answered, 'the best, the best'.

'I will try everything with my club to be back because, with all the respect, Asia is beautiful, commercially it's fantastic for the clubs, but the conditions to work are completely different.'

'Here is about the facilities and organisation and everything is perfect so we are going to try to persuade the club and Relevent to bring us back again.'
