Mourinho: No crisis of confidence for Lukaku

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has dismissed claims that striker Romelu Lukaku is suffering from a crisis of confidence.

The powerful hitman joined the 'Red Devils' from Everton in the summer and enjooyed a stunning start to the campaign, scoring in all but one of his games for club and country between August 8 and October 10.

However, since then, the 24-year-old has scored just once in United's last 11 games and faces a difficult trip to Arsenal on Saturday evening.

Lukaku has been criticised in the past for being a 'flat-track bully' and only scoring against lesser sides, but he retains the confidence of his manager, who, when speaking ahead of Saturday's game, said that it is only a matter of time until the striker starts socring again.

"No (I'm not worried), he's going to score soon," Mourinho told the press.

"No problem. If it's Saturday, if it's Tuesday, it's it next week, I don't know. But he's going to score soon and no problem at all."

The pressure has been mounting on Lukaku in recent weeks following a series of wasteful showings in front of goal, though a matchwinning performance at the Emirates on Saturday would go a long way to ensuring that his critics are silenced for a few more weeks yet.
