Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho believes that England have what it takes to take home the coveted World Cup title next summer and end 52 years of hurt.

England played out two 0-0 draws against Germany and Brazil during the international break, with boss Gareth Southgate opting to give a number of players their national team debuts during the games. Speaking to 'Sky Sports' Mourinho says that the mix of youthful exuberance and experience in the England sqaud next summer could be the perfect reipe for success.

"I think England must have a chance because the players are really good," explained the Portuguese. "There's a great generation of players at different ages and with different qualities.

"They have good experience at club level, playing in the Premier League and plenty of them play in the Champions League too.

"England have great potential to do something important."

However, the experienced manager was quick to point out that England will not have things all their own way as they look to add to their solitary World Cup success.

"In South America there are a couple of important teams, in Europe the same three or four so I can't believe next summer we will have a huge surprise," he concluded.
