The mother of Taison, who was part of Brazil's World Cup squad, has been released just hours after being kidnapped outside her home.

A video from her home security camera has been revealed, showing the moment that armed kidnappers chased down Rosangela Freida and bundled her in to a car before driving away.

After a short period, the building where she was being kept was located by police on the outskirts of Pelotas in southern Brazil. They surrounded it and managed to arrest four suspects, while a fifth is believed to have escaped.

She is well. Apart from the fright, there is no injury,” a police officer said.

"In less than an hour we found where she was being held and released the victim.”

When the police entered the building, they found a handgun and drugs on the scene.

Taison, who plays his club football for Shaktar Donetsk in Ukraine, did not play in Brazil's World Cup campaign but was included in the 23 man squad for the tournament.

He has yet to make a comment on the matter.
