Ligue 1 champions Monaco are believed to have rejected a third offer from Arsenal for winger Thomas Lemar.

Reports claim that this offer was in the region of £50m but that the Monegasque side have rejected the bid out of hand as they are determined to keep the player at the club this summer.

After impressing so much last season, reaching the semi-final of the Champions League and winning their domestic league, Monaco's squad has been systematically dismantled so far this summer. Leonardo Jardim's side have already lost Bernardo Silva, Benjamin Mendy, Valere Germain and Tiemoue Bakayoko, with question marks remaining over the futures of Lemar, Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho.

Lemar is believed to be at the top of Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger's wishlist this summer, however his hopes of landing the player were dashed on Wednesday, when Monaco vice president Vadim Vasilyev announced during a press conference tha Lemar is an 'essential player' who will not leave the club this summer.

If Monaco stick to their word and refuse to sell the player it is believed that the 'Gunners' will switch their focus to Leicester's Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez.
