Modric on comebacks: "The hardest was against City; the funnest was against PSG"

Luka Modric, after receiving the 'Marca Leyenda' award, recalled the road to the Champions League final, said he hopes to win another one and made it clear that he wants to retire at Real Madrid.

Luka Modric was honoured on Wednesday with the 'Marca Leyenda', an award given by the newspaper  to great icons in the history of world sport. At the event, the Real Madrid midfielder spoke about the Champions League final, the comebacks that have taken them there and his love for the club, where he hopes to retire.

On the historic nights that the Santiago Bernabeu has experienced this season, the Croatian believes that the one with the most merit was the last one: "The most complicated was the one against City, because there was almost no time left, but the team and the fans believed until the end because it's part of the DNA of this club. In the end we did it".

"The most fun was the one against PSG; it was 15 or 20 minutes of madness, because it's very difficult to explain what happens on Champions League nights at the Bernabeu. It was the start of many magical nights that have taken us all the way to Paris, and hopefully we can win another Champions League again," he added of the round of 16 and the final against Liverpool on 28th May.

Modric also spoke about his relationship with Madrid and his feelings towards the club: "Madrid is everything, it's my home, I feel very happy at this club, from the very first moment it has been something beautiful. I feel part of Madrid, I'm one more madridista and that's for life".

"I hope I can retire at Madrid. It's my home, I feel very happy at the club, in the city, very loved by the people. My family is also very happy, so I hope to continue for more years and hopefully finish my career here.
