Croatia captain Luka Modric, spoke after his team's loss to Spain in the UEFA Nations League final on Sunday. He addressed the speculation about whether he had decided to retire from international football at 37 years old.

Luka Modric is a central figure for Croatia. At 37 years old, the unshakable midfielder guided his team to the final of the Nations League, their second in the last five years.

Many people spoke before the match about whether this might be his last international appearance, and Modric, after his side lost on penalties to Spain, didn't seem like he wanted to share his decision.

"I've made my decision, but I'm not going to say it", he declared in the post-match press conference, shortly after his team had lost the trophy.

The Real Madrid veteran steered Croatia to the World Cup final in Russia in 2018, as well as taking bronze from the Qatar World Cup in December, and now silver in the UEFA Nations League.

A victory in Rotterdam would have been a fairy-tale ending for the captain to hang up his international boots. But the defeat against Spain might see him hold on until Euro 2024.
