Luka Modric was upset after losing to England in the Nations League, but predicted that they have abright future ahead of them.

The midfielder was the difference in the World Cup semi-final when they team's met this summer, taking control of the game and helping his side to their first World Cup final.

Modric could not have the same influence at Wembley on Sunday in the Nations League, as England came from behind to score two goals, win the game and the group.

While he conceded that it was a tough way to lose the match, he thinks that the team will go on to good things in the future.

"It is a bit painful to lose in this way because we prepared well for set-pieces. We knew England are dangerous from set pieces but in the end they got two goals from set-pieces and it is a bit painful." the Real Madrid man said after the match.

"I don't know if they have improved since the summer. That is maybe a question for them to assess if they are improving or not.

"But I see them like a good, young team with a bright future in front of them. They are in final four of this Nations League and it is showing that they are in a good way."
