The Super Eagles were unable to beat Zimbabwe in an African World Cup qualifier at the Huye Stadium as the match ended 1-1 on Sunday. Both teams shared points.

Nigeria missed the few chances they created in the first half. However, Zimbabwe were put ahead on the scoreboard thanks to a free-kick taken by Platinum forward Walter Musona, who made no mistake to give his national side the lead. The 27-year-old netted his first international goal.

Kelechi Iheanacho, who plays for Championship side Leicester City, came on in the second half and found the equaliser in the 67th minute to restart the match.

The atmosphere at the Huye Stadium was very heated as the referee's decisions were highly criticised by fans and players alike.

The Super Eagles were unable to score the winner as the hosts created many chances and threatened their box constantly. Another draw for the Nigerians
