Real Madrid broke the deadlock in their 2-0 victory over Espanyol with a stunning goal from Eder Militao from 30 yards. The Brazilian centre-back told 'Real Madrid TV' how "special" the goal was and expressed his delight at returning to his best form after serious injuries.

Brazilian defender Eder Militao, who scored Real Madrid's opening goal in their victory over Espanyol (2-0), described his long-range strike as “special”.

"It was a special goal, a screamer that sometimes comes off, and this time I tried it and it went in. It's one thing in training, but everything changes in a match. It looks easy, but it isn't,” he said on Realmadrid TV.

Militao, having overcome his second serious knee injury, made his fourth consecutive start for the first time since September 2024.

“I feel very good. I'm working every day to avoid relapses and further injuries, to keep improving and get back to my best level,” he claimed.

Furthermore, the Real Madrid centre-back praised his team's perfect start to the La Liga campaign, with 15 points from a possible 15.

“We are improving with each match, translating what the manager asks of us onto the pitch well. The victory is important to keep doing things right,” he said.

“There is a united group that does what the manager asks. That’s where the result comes from,” he added.
