Andre Gomes' future at Barcelona is less than certain, and AC Milan are looking to take advantage of this dubiety to bring the midfielder to the San Siro.

As reported by 'TuttoSport', the directors of AC Milan are eyeing up a move for Barca's Portuguese international, as the Italian side look to strengthen in the centre of the park.

Milan, who were once one of the giants of world football, are not the financial powerhouse they used to be, and therefore cannot compete with current giants such as Real Madrid, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain when it comes to big money signings. They are consequently scouting lower cost options such as Gomes to reinforce their squad.

Gomes was bought from Valencia for £31m as an exciting prospect back in 2016, but has failed to cement himself in the Catalan side's midfield, only featuring in 14 La Liga games this season. He is reportedly not content at Barca due to his inability to string together a run of good form, and has been booed by his own fans this year.

The Italian outlet reports that the Portuguese midfieder has no current plans to leave Barcelona, but could be tempted by a loan offer from Milan. He has also been linked with a loan move to English sides West Ham and Liverpool.
