Mignolet questions Karius exit

Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has claimed it is "bizarre" that the club allowed Karius to depart on loan even though he was seeking a way out of Anfield himself.
The Belgian was second choice to Karius at Anfield, but now finds himself as a back-up to new signing Alisson.
Karius moved to Turkish side Besiktas on a two-year long loan on Saturday, which Mignolet found an odd move from the 'Reds'.
Speaking to Belgian outlet 'Het Laatste News', Mignolet remarked: "I find it bizarre that Karius was loaned while I also had options to be loaned. But for some reason that was not possible.
"A goalkeeper who was preferred to me last year may leave on a loan basis. Strange.
"The transfer of Karius doesn't change anything for me,' he said. 'I have always been clear: I want to play.
"Being No 2 or No 3 makes little difference. Playing minutes is the most important thing."
Mignolet can been linked with a move to Besiktas, Barcelona and Napoli already this summer, though now it seems likely that he will remain at Anfield.
