Edinson Cavani, Neymar and Kylian Mbappe may get all the plaudits at Paris Saint-Germain but Thomas Meunier's suberb goal to give the Parisian club the lead against Rennes on Tuesday showed that he can contend with the attacking trio.

The right-back opened the scoring in the 24th minute to get the game on track for Unai Emery's side in the most spectacular fashion

Meunier used his left foot to pass the Rennes midfield before switching to the outside of his right, with the ball high in the air, to hit a lofting shot that flew into the top left corner giving Abdoulaye Diallo no chance of saving it.

The unorthodox finish would be something his team-mates would have been proud to do.
