Following his side's dramatic 2-1 win over Nigeria, Lionel Messi stunned an Argentine journalist by revealing he was wearing a good luck ribbon sent by the reporter's mother in his boot.

After the match, Messi was speaking to reporters when he was greeted by Rama Pantarotta, who had mentioned that his mother had sent a red ribbon to the forward ahead of the crunch game.
Pantarotta was left in disbelief when Messi said he remembered receiving the good luck charm before showing that he had been wearing the ribbon around his ankle during the game.
The reporter looked to the sky before embracing Messi, revealing that he was reduced to tears by the gesture.
