The Argentine is close to pen a new contract with Barca. He signed already seven times a new contract and we present you the last times.

2005 (June)

He signed his first extension at the age of 18. Afterwards he went to the Netherlands and plained in the youth World Cup for Argentine.

2005 (September)

After an impressive performance at the World Cup, Barca offered the youngster a new contract.

2007

Messi became a key player for the Spanish giants and signed a new contract until 2014. His release clause increased up to €150 million.

2008

Pep Guardiola arrived at the club and tripled his salary. He earned then €8,5 million per season.

2009

He signed a new contract until 2016 and his release clause increased up to €250 million. His salary increased as well and he earned €10,5 million per season.

2012

Three years later they offered him a new deal which made him earn €12m per season.

2014

After the World Cup the Argentine signed anew deal which brought him €20 million per year.
