After injuries have hardly let him play, Leo Messi will look for his first league goal of the season against Sevilla. A goal that would be the start of a campaign for the Golden Boot with things currently being complicated for him.

After becoming a ferocious goalscorer under Pep Guardiola, Lionel Messi has won 6 Golden Boots.

In fact, the Argentine has won the award in the last three seasons and this year he will look for his 4th in a row.

However, the diverse injuries that he has had at the start of this season means that he hasn't even scored a goal in the league this season.

Against Sevilla, Messi will look to open his goalscoring account, and whilst he's at it, start a desperate chase for the Golden Boot which is currently very complicated for him.

The Bayern Munich striker, Robert Lewandowski, is making the most of his absence, and he has scored 10 more goals than Messi this term.

A distance that would be almost unsavable for any player, but Messi isn't just any player. The hunt starts on Sunday.
