Leo Messi was the main protagonist in Barca's win over Betis. As well as his three assists, the '10' got his men going at half-time and told them to go out and show that they will not let the La Liga title get away from them.

Barcelona were trying to keep within touching distance of the La Liga title race this Sunday at the Benito Villamarin against Real Betis.

Quique Setien's men started the match six points behind Real Madrid so winning was more an obligation than a target.

The match was very even and Barca suffered a lot in the first half, but they put up a much better performance in the second half to end up winning 2-3.

A large part of the credit went to Leo Messi, who got three assists for his team. But the Argentine also played a key role in spurring his team into action.

In the tunnel, before coming out for the second half, Messi showed he was a leader and gave his men a good pep talk to get them motivated.

"Come on, come on, we are going to play football. We are going to strike now. We are going to be together like the other day," the Argentine began.

"We can't do it in one game and not the next," Messi concluded. He was once again vital to keeping Barca just three points off top spot.
