Lionel Messi spoke to Spanish publication 'Marca' after picking up his fourth 'Golden Shoe' award, talking about the changes at Barcelona since Ernesto Valverde's arrival and the great start to the season for the Catalan giants.

"Man City are one of the strongest teams at the moment along with PSG. So far, they have been the two teams who have looked the most secure, but there's still a long way to go. And you can never rule out Real Madrid," the Argentinian striker said, on the top teams around Europe.

Messi then backed up his comments, underlining the importance of the experience of Barcelona's eternal rivals, Real Madrid, despite the fact that their results have been somewhat disappointing at the start of this campaign.

"I have no doubt that come the end of the season they will be up there fightinig for everything, like they do every year. Bayern as well, they're another big team who will be up there at the end. But it is true that, right now, City and PSG are the best there are," the 'Golden Shoe' winner said.
