He had the opportunity to do it earlier in the season, but he missed out. Barca lost at the Carranza and Messi failed to score. That is one of the few grounds he has failed to score at.
In fact, he has never scored against Cadiz in a competitive fixture. He will look to change that at home and make the Andalusia outfit his 38th victim.
It will also be Messi's 506th La Liga match for Barcelona. That will take him past Xavi (505), but he will still a long way off the record held by goalkeeper Andoni Zubizarreta (622).
