Lionel Messi is looking to put on unflattering stat behind him when his Barca side travel to Turin to face Juventus on Wednesday.

The Argentine has not scored away from home in the Champion League since finding the net against Scottish champions Celtic at Celtic Park in last year's group stage.

Everyone is aware that last season was not Messi's best in the Champions League, with the Barca man largely outshone by arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo. Whilst Messi perform well in the group stage, scoring ten goals in five games, he failed to make much of an impression in the last 16 against PSG or in the quarter-finals against Juventus.

Due to those no-shows, Messi has gone almost a whole calendar year without an away goal in the Champions League (with the last one coming on November 23 2016). The 30-year-old will have another chance to get on the scoresheet in enemy territory on Wednesday, when Barca journey to Italy to face Juventus, the team that eliminated them from the competition last season.

Messi last away goal in Euorpe's premier club competition came from the penalty spot, though the Argentine had already found the net from open play in the first half after ebing found by Neymar.

Since then, Messi has failed to fins the net in games against PSG and Juventus in the knockout stages of the 2016/17 campaign and Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos this time around.

Will he get the monkey off his back on Wednesday? Join us to find out!
