After Argentina made the semi-finals of the World Cup with victory over the Netherlands, Leo Messi surprised everyone by calling Wout Weghorst "stupid." 'Ole' has since posted a video potentially explaining the reason. It shows Weghorst arguing with Lautaro Martinez and Sergio Aguero.
Argentina suffered, but managed to deservedly book their place in the semi-finals in Qatar. Emiliano Martinez shone in the penalty shootout and Lautaro Martinez scored the decisive spot kick to send Argentina into the next round.
All sorts happened during the game and then afterwards as well. Messi, while he was giving comments in the interview area, said "What are you looking at, stupid man? Go over there!" Those comments were aimed at Weghorst and they spread like wildfire on social media because it is rare to see the Argentine get that angry.
'Ole' posted a video which would explain Messi's reaction. In it, the Dutch player argues with Aguero, while Aguero tries to defuse the situation. "That's enough!," he repeated on several occasions.
Lautaro saw Weghorst and he approached him while members of Scaloni's staff tried to prevent things from escalating. And again Aguero appeared on the scene to tried take Lautaro away. However, the Dutchman went after him once again.
Both dedicated phrases to each other in English before both went their to their respective dressing rooms.
