Messi and Suarez are golden too
Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez were showing off the six European Golden Shoe awards they have between them during a photo shoot at the club's training ground.
Ronaldo may have been awarded the Ballon d'Or during the ceremony last week, but Messi and Suarez were keen to show off their own trophies.
The two team-mates and close friends were pictured alognside all the European Golden Shoe trophies they have won for the front cover of Barcelona's new magazine.
In the three full seasons the two South American forwards have played together at the Camp Nou, one of them has taken home the award for the top scorer in Europe in two of those seasons.
Luis Suarez won it in 2015-16, while Lionel Messi took home the award in 2016-17. 2014-15 was a succesful year for Barcelona as they won the treble, but neither of their forwards managed to outscore Cristiano Ronaldo, although Suarez's lengthy ban at the start of the season for biting Chiellini did not help their cause.
Out of the six trophies, four of them are the Argentinian's, and two belong to the Uruguayan.

2012-13: Lionel Messi - 46 goals
2013-14: Luis Suarez - 31 goals (shared with Cristiano Ronaldo)
2015-16: Luis Suarez - 40 goals
