The heavyweights in Barcelona's dressing room have grown tired of the club's approach to the transfer window and have blamed the sporting director, according to Spanish journalist Manu Carreño.

'The heavyweights at Barcelona are beginning to get tired of Robert Fernandez, they do not understand the signings', the mentioned journalist said on 'El Larguero' after the Barcelona's 2-0 win over Real Betis.

The captains want to get the team's situation back on track with the help of big-money signings to increase the squad's competitive capacity ahead of a season which is looking somewhat complicated.

The journalist went even further in saying that Messi's renewal depended on new recruits that arrived at the Camp Nou. Despite verbally agreeing to a deal, the Argentine will not put pen to paper until he knows who his teammates will be in the forthcoming seasons.

Leo Messi's future is not as decided as Josep Maria Bartomeu once stated. His contract remains unsigned and Manchester City are reportedly looking into paying his release clause.

Even though the Citizens have denied such allegations, reports from Barcelona suggest that Guardiola is monitoring the situation closely with the transfer window days away from closing. The money at the Etihad is burning a hole in the manager's pocket and Messi is the dream impossible to let go.

At the Camp Nou, a similar situation to that of Neymar is feared. The directives, supporters and now the players all feel dissatisfied with the movements made in the market until now.

Robert Fernandez's work has been criticised since last summer. The signings that arrived did not perform to the level expected, and he now has under 10 days to turn the situation around.
