Spanish publication 'Mundo Deportivo' claims that PSG have made an audacious €270m swoop for Barcelona star Philippe Coutinho.

A huge news story rocked Barcelona on Monday after locally-based sports newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo' revealed the French giants' attempts to lure Coutinho away from the Catalan outfit.

Coutinho only joined Barcelona in January, plugging the gap created by Neymar's move to the Parc des Princes last summer.

According to the aforementioned source, PSG are not scrimping over a deal, despite having only recently been cleared of breaching Financial Fair Play rules, and have put an offer worth €270m on the table for the Samba star.

The reports claims that PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is so keen to convince Neymar to stay at the club that he is prepared to sancion a mega-money move for his international team-mate and close friend.

With a lot of the potential summer transfer business put on hold by the World Cup, the market looks set to explode in the coming weeks and with Brazil out of the competition PSG's path is clear to make their approach.

The Parisians are known to hold a long-term interest in Coutinho, having been heavily linked with him before he joined the 'Azulgrana'.

However, the club's hands were tied at that time due to the huge outlays on Neymar and Kylian Mbappe. This time though, Barcelona may have a battle on their hands.
