Barcelona's next signing will be Matheus Fernandes. The footballer said goodbye to Palmeiras on social media and mencioned Barca and Valladolid in his bio. In Brazil they are saying that the move has cost seven million euros plus variables.

Guillermo Amor said that Barcelona will not sign anyone in January, but Matheus Fernandes' words seem to indicate the opposite. It is expected to be announced in the coming hours just before the transfer window closes.

This move has been talked about for days, but the footballer himself revealed it on social media. Matheus said goodbye to Palmeiras and put Barcelona and Valladolid in his bio as his current clubs.

"I have never been good at saying goodbye, but you have to do it sometimes. I say goodbye and thank you to Palmeiras, a club which trusted my potential and signed me up last year. Thank you so much as well to Botafogo for having opening the door to a kid who was full of dreams. Very honoured to have have played for clubs with so much history in Brazilian football. Of course, I cannot forget the greatest people of my short career. Dad, Mum, my family... every time I doubted how far I could reach, you were there," he began.

"Every victory achieved was not mine, but ours. We suffered and won together. The day has arrived to carry out the dream of playing in Europe. I am thankful to good for everything I have been given. Soon, new challenges, goals and dreams. We keep on going, it's only the beginning," the Brazilian added.

The midfielder, who joined Palmeiras last summer from Botafogo, is just 21 and is one of the most promising footballers in the country. Now, if nothing changes at the last minute, he will join Barca.

'FOX Sports' reveals details of the move and says that Barca will pay seven million euros with the possibility of up to four more in variables. The plan is for him to go out on loan to Valladolid. Barca cannot keep him as they have already reached the non-EU players quota.
