Roberto Martinez got off to the worst possible start as manager of Belgium as they lost 2-0 to Spain and were booed off the field by their own fans.
Belgium were less than impressive as they mustered just one shot on target in the whole game.
The poor performance brought boos from the Belgium faithful, but Martinez has played down the importance of the match and the result.
"You can't expect major change in just three days and this result has no real meaning," the former Everton manager said.
"What I do want to see, though, is passion and pride in wearing the national team jersey".
Martinez was a somewhat surprise choice as Belgium manager after two disappointing seasons with Everton.
The match was also Julen Lopetegui's first game in charge of Spain.
