Martinez Munuera disallowed De Jong goal after VAR review

Luuk de Jong scored the first goal of the match at the Santiago Bernabeu. However, Martinez Munuera disallowed the goal on the advice of the VAR, for a foul by Gudelj on Militao.

The VAR intervened in the first half of the match between Real Madrid and Sevilla. De Jong was unmarked and he scored with a powerful header, but RM claimed a foul on Eder Militao

The incident, from a corne, happen on the back post, Militao bumped into Gudelj, who was hardly moving in the RM area. That caused the defender to fall to the ground and meant De Jong was unmarked. 

Completely on his own, De Jong headed into the goal. The Real Madrid players protested, Martinez Munuera listened to Soto Grado, the VAR, who recommended a pitchside review. 

The on field referee went to the screen by the dugouts and after several seconds, he disallowed the goal for a foul by Gudelj on Militao. 

The Sevilla players and Julen Lopetegui complained bitterly about the decision. Real Madrid were on the right side of a controversial decision
