Troyes player and World Cup winner with France in 2018 Adil Rami heavily criticised Emiliano Martinez. On Instagram, he posted several 'stories', and in one of them he went in on the Argentinian goalkeeper, who played in the final of the World Cup, for making fun of Kylian Mbappe and for his obscene gests to the stands when he celebrated.
Argentina beat France on penalties. The game finished 3-3, and it was all decided from 12 yards. After the 'Albiceleste' won, the players celebrated it as much as they could, but one man in particular was in the spotlight.
Emi Martinez had a go at Mbappe several times. In the dressing room, he asked for "a minute's silence" for him because "he was dead". Afterwards, he put the Frenchman's face on a doll. That is why he has been criticised a lot.
Adil Rami did not like the Aston Villa goalkeeper's attitude, and heavily criticised him on one of his Instagram 'stories'. With a photo of Martinez after winning the match, he wrote: "The biggest sh*t in world football. The most hated man".
The Troyes player went on to post another 'story', this time dedicated to the whole of Argentina for celebrating. He did not like that they were celebrating more for having defeated France than having won the trophy. "Mbappe traumatised them so much that they're celebrating beating us more than winning the World Cup", he finished.
