Gabriel Martinelli was sent off in the Premier League game between Wolves and Arsenal in rather bizarre fashion. He was set off for trying to stop a throw in and then, after the throw in was taken, he fouled the man who had the ball and was given a yellow for each offence.

Gabriel Martinelli was sent off for for two very quick yellows with just over 20 minutes left in Arsenal's Premier League contest wirh Wolves. When his term were winning 0-1, he managed to see two yellow cards in practically the same attack.

Firstly, he pushed an opponent who was trying to take a throw-in. That delayed the taking of the throw and that allowed his teammates time to reorganise. Wolves managed to take the throw, but Martinelli was not done.

He sprinted towards the footballer who had ball and sent him tumbling to the floor. The referee ended up sending off the player for two yellow cards. The player had to leave the pitch before time and Arsenal had to see out the remaining time with 10 men.

It was Martinelli's first red of his career. He is not known for losing his temper. In 2022, Arsenal have had more red cards (4) than goals scored (2). Something Arteta's side will have to improve in upcoming matches.
