Marseille howler gifted Griezmann the opener in the final
After a cagey first 20 minutes, a botched clearance gifted Antoine Griezmann with a golden chance. On home soil, the Frenchman made it count.
It was the start Marseille were dreading. After piling on some early pressure on Atlético Madrid, the side from the French Riviera shot themselves in the foot.
A weighty pass from Steve Mandada was too much for Anguissa to control and the ball skipped past his foot. Latching onto the loose ball on the edge of the box, Griezmann took it in his stride and charged towards goal.
Able to take his time, the Frenchman gave Mandada the eyes, sending the OM goalkeeper tumbling to the floor, before coolly slotting into the bottom left corner.
The one goal lead gave Diego Simeone's men an early advantage and saw them with one hand on the Europa League trophy in Lyon.
